I am very pleased to issue a message for the newly launched website of MR/Telijjawila Central College.
It is a well-known fact that the students are the backbone of a country; therefore, it is our bounded duty to mould the younger generation to get over the obstacles and challenges in the future. As the deputy principal of MR/Telijjawila central College I can be satisfied with the performances and the achievements of both the teachers and the students. At present, MR/Telijjawila Central College is in a prominent place in the Southern Province as a national school. The number of the students who get through the G.C.E. (O/L) and the G.C.E. (A/L) examinations have been on the increase, as the result of the dedication and the commitment of the tutorial staff.
I strongly believe that the teachers should update their knowledge in order to go along with the fast moving world because the world is changing technologically. Specially we should be armed with  Information and Communication Technology as we are now living in a global villege.At the same time, it is our duty to create opportunities for the students to acquire the technological skill so that they can face up the barriers and challenges in the future.By nature the students are inclined to the new technology , but we know that computer technology is like a “blade that both edges are sharpened” ; therefore, it our responsibility to point out the repercussions of misusing the  ICT ;moreover, we should keep eye on them.
We thoroughly know that ICT is applied in almost all the fields to raise the productivity, efficiency and effectiveness ;further, educational software, online dictionaries, online encyclopedias, and virtual class rooms etc. are available for the educational field. So there is no doubt that ICT plays a very significant role in today’s society; therefore, it is reasonable to introduce the ICT subject to the modern syllabuses.
Finally, I am extremely happy about taking the bull by the horn for the progress of the college. I highly appreciate the effort to design this type of website for MR/Telijjawila Central College because I consider it to be a formidable task. I hope it will come off with flying colours very soon; also, I would like to thank everybody who contributed to make this task successful. I wish this website may make progress day by day.

I am very proud of MR/Telijjawila Central College as the deputy principal and one of the past pupils of the school because of the gradual progress of the school.
At present , the school is in a dominant place  as the results of G.C.E(O/L) and G.C.E(A/L) are excellent in comparison to the other schools in the southern province. The number of the students who show a good performance at the national level competitions are rising day by day as well.
At this juncture, I’d like to express my sincere thank to the principal of the school for directing the school to the correct path, the tutorial staff for shouldering this formidable task and the non-academic staff for their dedicated service.
Finally, I should be thankful to Mr.Kumara Liyanage for designing, developing and maintaining this official website of the school with the intention of dissipating the achievements of the school among the world. I wish these all attempts may succeed.
